Tales of a Traveling Trainer

Last month I had the privilege of working with the executive leaders of Foundation Christian Academy in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

This wonderful group of leaders is wanting to expand their impact while also creating a culture that maximizes the potential of every administrator, teacher, staff member, and student at their school through the use of coaching. So, through my partnership with Strata Leadership, I am facilitating the development of their coaching skills through two in-person training sessions and a series of group coaching sessions.

To get to Bowling Green from Edmond/OKC, I flew into Nashville and drove an hour to BG. While in Nashville, I took the opportunity to visit a couple of places I wanted to see (I’ve been to Nashville before and have seen the main sites).

My first stop was to a famous bookstore in Franklin, TN called Landmark Booksellers. This store has been featured in TV shows and movies, but the coolest thing about it is the building, which is over 100 years old.

In Franklin, I also found the office of The Table Group, which is Patrick Lencioni’s company. His work has had a profound impact on my leadership approach, so it was cool to see where he works. I just wish I would have had the courage to go inside and meet him!

I also took a tour of the campus of Ramsey Solutions, including the studio where Dave Ramsey records his daily radio show.

I’m heading back to Bowling Green through Nashville in July. What should I see next?

Also, if you are interested in doing a similar training for your organization, email me at rusty.tugman@gmail.com and let’s start a conversation.
