9-1-1 Passages in Scripture

We all know that when we have a physical emergency we can call “911” and request help.  But where do you go when you have a spiritual emergency?

I recently had a person contact me to ask this question: “How do you know what to read in the Bible when you need it?”  It’s a great question, so I shared with her a list of “9-1-1 Numbers” in the Bible that I have been giving to people for a number of years.  Maybe these will help you also:

When in sorrow, call John 14

When lonely or afraid, call Psalm 23

When you have sinned, call Psalm 51

When you grow bitter and critical, call 1 Corinthians 13

When you worry, call Matthew 6:19-34

When you feel discouraged, call Isaiah 40

When you need courage, call Joshua 1

When you feel down and out, call Romans 8:31-39

When you feel in danger, call Psalm 91

When your faith needs stirring, call Hebrews 11

When God seems far away, call Psalm 139

When you want the secret to happiness, call Colossians 3:12-17

When the world seems bigger than God, call Psalm 70 and Jeremiah 33:3
