Recently, a friend of mine came by my office to learn how to lead a Bible study. This was a significant step in his faith journey and he recognized it, because at one point in our conversation he looked at me and said, “Rusty, I’ve sat on this couch when tragedy struck my life; I’ve sat on this couch to receive marital counseling, and now I’m sitting on this couch learning how to lead others in a Bible study. Wow!”
Sometimes we wonder if Jesus can still transform lives the way we see him doing it in the New Testament, and my friend and I can tell you from personal experience: “Yes, he does!”
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
