Five on Friday

Each Friday I recommend some books I’ve read, some songs I like, some quotes that inspire me, and whatever else I think is worth you checking out.

Here’s my 5 for this Friday…

Book

You Are What You Love by James K.A. Smith provides a deep look at how our loves shape our lives.  It also provides a call to action to let the God of love shape us above all else.

Most Interesting Article I Read This Week

In this article entitled “Almost Everything the Media Tell You About Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity is Wrong” Ryan Anderson summarizes a major new report on what science says about sexual orientation and gender identity. There’s also a link to the report itself.

Podcast

Revisionist History by Malcolm Gladwell is an entertaining “new” podcast that has the bestselling author telling stories and finding lessons within them. If you like Gladwell’s books, you will enjoy this podcast.

Song

This one’s just fun!

Quote

“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”           – John Wesley

I am a husband, father, and preacher. I have the great privilege of serving a wonderful church family at the Alameda Church of Christ in Norman, OK. I have graduate degrees in ministry and administrative leadership and I also run the occasional marathon. This blog provides a platform to share some thoughts about Scripture, church, ministry, leadership, current events, books I'm reading, and baseball. Thanks for joining me!
