What’s Next?

Christmas is over.

The presents have been opened.

The food has been eaten.

The festivities have concluded.

So, what’s next?

When we look in the Gospels at what came immediately after the brith narrative of Jesus, we find some guidance for answering that question.

For example, in Luke, what comes next is two stories about Jesus in the temple and then we are fast forwarded to John the Baptist “preparing the way” for Jesus, followed by the baptism of Jesus.

So, what came next for Jesus and his family?

They lived in response to what God was doing in the world through Jesus.

And there’s our answer.

What comes after the Christmas season?

We live in response to the true story of Jesus coming into the world to deliver the world from the curses of sin and death.

So, what does that look like for you?

In what ways do you need to order your life around the “good news of great joy” about Jesus?

How can you live more responsively to what God is doing in the world through Jesus?

Where, in your life, can you be more missional for the cause of Christ?

As you answer those questions for yourself, you will have a clearer picture of what’s next for you.
