I recently saw an interview with actor and activist George Clooney in which he was asked the following question: “Are worried about our democracy?”
In one part of his answer Clooney said, “I’m concerned about how we celebrate unkindness.”
That’s something that should concern us Christians as well.
In fact, kindness is one of the identifying characteristics of a person who is in Christ and alive to the Spirit of God.
The coarsening of American society makes Christ-like kindness even more distinguishable.
So, one of the best opportunities we have to “image” Christ to the world is through kindness.
This is something that Steven Curtis Chapman reminds us of in one his most recent songs, which you can listen to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oE5w52Ji6Yw
Today, one way to demonstrate radical allegiance to Christ is by choosing kindness while the rest of the world celebrates unkindness.
