“Our ministry staff benefited greatly from Rusty’s time with us as coach and confidant. Rusty was able to help us identify growth areas and give us tools to improve ourselves professionally and personally. He has helped us become better people who relate better to people. I enthusiastically recommend Rusty to any organization, business, or church whose leaders want to be more effective.”

A Pioneering Coach.

As the Leadership Trainer & Workplace Coach for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, I created and managed the first-of-its-kind internal coaching program for a state agency in the history of Oklahoma state government.

Now, I serve as the President of Strata Leadership, which is a premier executive coaching and leadership development partner to national and international organizations.

A Prepared Partner.

I am a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and a Certified Team Coach and Certified Change Leadership Coach through the prestigious Center for Executive Coaching.

I hold two master’s degrees and multiple certifications covering such topics as Bible, ministry, organizational leadership, systems theory, conflict resolution and mediation, counseling, communication, project management, personality development, and leader-employee relationships.

An Experienced Leader.

With over 30 years experience on the frontlines of leadership, including 21 as Senior Minister, I’ve been where you are and I know the challenges of leading people and systems. I have a long list of accomplishments and an even longer list of mistakes. Through it all, I have created a track record of serving others with integrity, empathy, and wisdom and gained a reputation for helping leaders and teams maximize their potential.

  • A Prayer for CBH Campers

Next week I will have the great privilege of speaking and teaching at Camp Blue Haven in New Mexico, a church camp for 5th-12th grade students.  It is easily one of my favorite weeks of the year.  This year we will be covering the book of Philippians, and in the first chapter of that letter…

  • The Greatest Example of Sacrifice

This week we observed Memorial Day and honored the sacrifices of incredibly brave men and women who served our country with honor.  It’s important to remember that the freedoms we enjoy have come at a great price, and for freedom to continue each generation must be willing to make certain sacrifices for the benefit of…

  • Sacrifice

On this Memorial Day, I am reminded that it is sacrifice, not entitlement, that creates a strong nation and leaves a lasting legacy.  Here are some of my favorite quotes about sacrifice: “The Seven Social Sins are: Wealth without work; pleasure without conscience; knowledge without character; commerce without morality; science without humanity; worship without sacrifice;…

  • Life Without a Car Radio

I drive an old truck – a plain jane, no electric windows or locks, stick shift truck. Recently, I had a problem with the battery cables coming loose every other day that required me to tighten the cable screws around the battery in order to get my truck started. I finally got the cables fixed…
