– Chief of Staff, Oklahoma Department of Human Services

A Pioneering Coach.

As the Leadership Trainer & Workplace Coach for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, I created and oversee the first-of-its-kind internal coaching program for a state agency in the history of Oklahoma state government.

A Prepared Partner.

I am a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and a Certified Team Coach and Certified Change Leadership Coach through the prestigious Center for Executive Coaching.

I hold two master’s degrees and multiple certifications covering such topics as organizational leadership, systems theory, conflict resolution and mediation, counseling, communication, project management, personality development, and leader-employee relationships.

An Experienced Leader.

With over 30 years experience on the frontlines of leadership, I’ve been where you are and I know the challenges of leading people and systems. I have a long list of accomplishments and an even longer list of mistakes. Through it all, I have created a track record of serving others with integrity, empathy, and wisdom and gained a reputation for helping leaders and teams maximize their potential.

  • What Skiing Taught Me About Leadership

I love to ski. (In fact, I am writing this post while on a ski trip.) I’ve been skiing in Germany, Colorado, and New Mexico – and, hopefully someday, Park City, Utah. There’s just something about the beauty of snowy mountains, the freedom of flying down a ski run, and the accompanying sense of adventure…

  • Are You Content?

I’ve been thinking a lot about contentment lately. To be content, according to the dictionary, is to be satisfied with what one has, not wanting or needing anything more or anything else. An expanded definition might say that being content is being satisfied with what you have, who you are, and where you’re going. This…

  • What Do You Like Best About Being in a Position of Leadership?

The title of this blog post is a question I ask every new coaching client of mine. It’s one of several questions I ask during an introductory session that helps me get to know each person a little better. When I recently asked this question to a new client of mine, she said that what…

I drove by it today. The Hospital. I’m speaking this weekend at an event in Galveston, TX, and, due to another event in Dallas on Monday and Tuesday, I drove. Driving to Galveston from Edmond, OK means driving through The Woodlands, TX, which means driving by… The Hospital. The Hospital is right off I-45, so…
