A Pioneering Coach.

As the Leadership Trainer & Workplace Coach for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, I created and oversee the first-of-its-kind internal coaching program for a state agency in the history of Oklahoma state government.

A Prepared Partner.

I am a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and a Certified Team Coach and Certified Change Leadership Coach through the prestigious Center for Executive Coaching.

I hold two master’s degrees and multiple certifications covering such topics as organizational leadership, systems theory, conflict resolution and mediation, counseling, communication, project management, personality development, and leader-employee relationships.

An Experienced Leader.

With over 30 years experience on the frontlines of leadership, I’ve been where you are and I know the challenges of leading people and systems. I have a long list of accomplishments and an even longer list of mistakes. Through it all, I have created a track record of serving others with integrity, empathy, and wisdom and gained a reputation for helping leaders and teams maximize their potential.

  • The Man with the Pink Mohawk

On Monday I officiated the funeral of a 93-year-old woman who lived a quiet, normal life that revolved around home, family, and church.  She was conservative, sweet, kind, generous, sincere, and faithful to her family and her God.  She served others as an expression of her love for God, but her acts of service did…

  • Why I Said “Not Interested”

So, has this ever happened to you? You get a phone call from a number you don’t recognize, but you answer it anyway.  The person on the other end of the call says something like this: “May I speak with Charlie?” Since you’re not Charlie you say, “I’m sorry; you have the wrong number.” Then…

  • Five on Friday

Today I’m sharing my five favorite Christmas ornaments.  As a disclaimer, we have several ornaments with pictures of our kids that are among my favorites, but I’m not posting those here. So, here’s this week’s Five on Friday… Our family loves Walt Disney World! I had a lunch box like this when I was a…

  • One Thing We Know For Sure about God

Today’s entry in Bread for the Journey, a daily devotional book by Henri Nouwen, is entitled “Restored to Eternal Life”… One thing we know for sure about our God: Our God is a God of the living, not of the dead.  God is life.  God is love.  God is beauty.  God is goodness.  God is…

  • Party at the Preacher’s House!

Last night, my wife, daughter, and I hosted our church’s Celebrate Recovery leaders in our home to say “thank you” for the important and impactful ministry they are providing to the people in our congregation and community who are searching for freedom from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups that have kept them from fully connecting…
