I am a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and a Certified Team Coach and Certified Change Leadership Coach through the prestigious Center for Executive Coaching.

I hold two master’s degrees and multiple certifications covering such topics as organizational leadership, systems theory, conflict resolution and mediation, counseling, communication, project management, personality development, and leader-employee relationships.

An Experienced Leader.

With over 30 years experience on the frontlines of leadership, I’ve been where you are and I know the challenges of leading people and systems. I have a long list of accomplishments and an even longer list of mistakes. Through it all, I have created a track record of serving others with integrity, empathy, and wisdom and gained a reputation for helping leaders and teams maximize their potential.

Thoughts on leadership, coaching, church, and spirituality.

  • A Psalm of Thanksgiving

November is the month of Thanksgiving, which provides a good opportunity to talk about gratitude.  For the Christian, gratitude is created by the recognition of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ.  This means that our sense of gratitude is directly tied to the faithful love of God, not our circumstances.  So, the…

  • Spirit-Driven Problem-Solving

The Holy Spirit that indwells baptized believers of Jesus Christ is described as a spirit of power (2 Timothy 1:7), but sometimes it feels that the power of God is not greater than the powers of the world.  One of the times when it feels that way is when there’s conflict in the church and…

  • The Perseverance of the Holy Spirit

For nearly two months, the Alameda Church of Christ has been studying the role of the Holy Spirit from the pulpit and a Wednesday night Bible class. It has been a fascinating conversation that has been well-received and appreciated by many. Admittedly, the work of the Spirit can be difficult to measure but the thing…

  • Regrets

Jesus is often described as “Redeemer” because of his ability to redeem us from our sin.  This quality of Jesus inspires hope among us since it speaks to the willingness of Jesus to forgive our worst moments.  If Jesus redeems, then we know that our failures can be overcome, that they won’t keep us from…

  • Stephen King on Money

In 2001, author Stephen King gave the commencement address at Vassar College.  During one part of his speech he referenced the time he was hit by a car while running and said the following: “A couple of years ago I found out what ‘you can’t take it with you’ means.  I found out while I…
