On Sunday I shared with our congregation many of the ways we made Jesus known to our community in 2017. The list was extensive and impressive. It really is remarkable what God can do through a group of people who are committed to glorifying God by serving others in the name of Christ.
One of the more remarkable stories of how Jesus is being made known through the Alameda Church of Christ is what’s happening in our Celebrate Recovery ministry. We launched that ministry a year and a half ago from scratch and we are now averaging 50 adults and 20 kids/students every Friday night!
In 2017, 48 people completed a CR Step Study which is where the “work” of recovery gets done as people learn to live in response to the gospel of Christ.
Since Celebrate Recovery has started at Alameda, 12 people have been baptized into Christ as a direct result of that ministry.
God truly is doing something special in our church family and in our community through Celebrate Recovery.
