Dear Alameda Church of Christ,
In the month of September, our average Sunday morning worship attendance was 9% higher than last September’s average – making it the 5th straight month of significant growth in our church family.
After a lengthy period of plateau, our church is experiencing numerical growth again, and that’s cause for celebration!
I realize that numbers are not everything and numbers cannot tell you the whole story of what’s happening in any organization, but they can be a helpful barometer of systemic health – especially in a time of change. Ever since we started implementing strategic changes to our church culture to bring us into greater alignment with Jesus’ Great Commission, we have seen a reversal of our growth track in a positive direction.
And I take that as confirmation that we are on the right track and that Got is blessing our intentionality on greater discipleship to Jesus.
I know that not all of you have been excited about or supportive of some of the changes that we have made together, but please don’t let that keep you from seeing that God is at work in our church family.
God is bigger than any of our differences over our own personal preferences, and God is the story here. It is God’s purposes that are being pursued. It is Jesus who is being made known to more people. It is the Spirit that is clearly moving among us.
And how exciting it is to be part of it!
Let us rejoice and be glad, “for the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations” (Psalm 100:5).
Sincerely,
The Preacher
That is Great!!
