An Experienced Leader.

With over 30 years experience on the frontlines of leadership, I’ve been where you are and I know the challenges of leading people and systems. I have a long list of accomplishments and an even longer list of mistakes. • 6 Opportunities in This Crisis

News Flash: We are living in a time of global crisis. OK, so we all know that, but what do we do about it? On Wednesday night, I did a Facebook Live event for our congregation (you can watch it here) and shared some ideas that flow out of Jeremiah 29:1-14.  In that passage, the…

  • Resources for Your Students

As schools have announced an extended break due to COVID-19, our kids are going to have a lot of extra time at home.  For most of them, it probably means even more screen time and binge-watching; and, when you combine that with social isolation, it can lead to an increase of anxiety and depression.  So,…

  • Cancelled (A Prayer)

Dear Lord, Today feels different. Today feels “wrong.” Today feels weird. Today feels as if fear is winning over faith. For today, Lord, our usual worship services have been cancelled. And today, Lord, houses of worship sit empty. Cancelled. Empty. Surely, Satan is grinning from ear to ear as those two words are applied to…

Yesterday, was such an exciting day at Alameda as we welcomed guest worship leader Shane Coffman from the Memorial Drive Church of Christ in Tulsa.  In addition to leading singing in our worship service, Shane taught our congregation some “new” songs during our Bible class time. One of those songs was “Who You Say I…

If you remain in me…
